Beginner’s Guide and FAQs

FAQ – PREPARING FOR YOUR LIVE-STREAMED CLASS

How do I book in for classes?

The steps are exactly the same before for signing into class using the schedule page on our website or the Mind Body App. Please try to book in for the class at least 30 minutes in advance so that we have time to send your email invite to the live-stream. Booking for the class is essential as you will not receive your link to the live-stream if you haven’t booked.    If you haven’t received your link 20 min before class starts, please contact us.

How should I prepare for the class?

It’s always good to keep an eye on hydration when exercising. Make sure you drink plenty of water, and try not to eat too big a meal 2 hours before class.

Before class you have the option to turn your camera and audio on or off. You can decide to chat to the teacher and other members of the community or you can relax in savasana prior to class.

What should I wear?

Please ensure you are warm and comfortable. You can put on some extra layers, and make sure you wear something that allows you to move freely.

How should I set up my home yoga space for a live class?

Practicing yoga at home means you can join the class wherever you are! To get the most out of classes, we suggest you order an adhesive stick-on mirror. It would also be a good time to invest in a yoga mat if you don’t have one. Don’t stress about the equipment though, you can always get creative.  A rug or even a bath mat could work, and you could grab your bathroom mirror and use books for blocks in deep-release. It’s best to turn the heating up and wear some extra layers to warm up before class. Don’t worry too much if your dog runs past or your kids join in — simply breathe through it, keep focusing on your teacher’s voice and go with the flow.

Can children take part in the class?

This is entirely up to you. It can be lots of fun for your child to come and join you for a few of the simpler postures, if you think it’s suitable, The instruction will be geared at adults but there is usually enough stimulation to be found so that the parent can complete the class.
